Lately, life has felt like it’s asking me to slow down — and for once, I’m listening.
This season has been less about adding and more about paring back. Less spending, less clutter, fewer distractions. More intention. More presence. More breathing room.
Decluttering Our Home
I’ve been slowly decluttering our house — not in a dramatic, overnight way, but in a steady, lived-in rhythm. One cabinet at a time. One drawer at a time. Letting go of what we don’t use, don’t love, or don’t need in this season.
It’s amazing how much lighter a home feels when it’s filled only with what serves your family well.
Reading Again
I’ve also found my way back to reading. Real books. Quiet moments. Pages turned slowly.
It feels grounding — like returning to something familiar that I didn’t realize I’d missed so much. Reading has become a small but meaningful part of my day, a reminder that rest can be productive in its own way.
A No-Spend Reset
Another shift I’m leaning into is a no-spend season. Being mindful, using what we already have, and appreciating the abundance that’s already here.
It’s been refreshing — and honestly freeing — to step away from constant consumption and focus on stewardship instead.
Bringing My Sourdough Back to Life
If you know me, you know sourdough always finds its way back into my kitchen. I’m currently in the process of bringing my starter back to life — feeding it, waiting patiently, and remembering that good things take time.
There’s something deeply satisfying about working with your hands and trusting the process, even when it feels slow.
Working on a New Booth Location
Behind the scenes, I’ve also been working on a new location for Wild Fern Mercantile. This part has been both exciting and stretching — dreaming, planning, and building something thoughtfully instead of rushing it.
Wild Fern has always been about intention over urgency, and I’m committed to keeping it that way as it grows.
